Half Empty

Counting from April 2, 2007 - the day he came home from the NICU - and assuming that he will start Kindergarten on September 5, 2012; today marks, roughly, the half way point of the time I have at home with Alex. 

Just typing that makes me sad.

Call Me Ted

A few nights ago, an episode of 'Olivia' was playing on the television. Olivia had been distrubed when a new girl came to class whose name was also Olivia. Our red loving Olivia decided that she would change her name to Pam rather than be Olivia One as her teacher suggested. Alex must have been paying close attention because, in short order, he told us that his name was 'Ted' now. Any efforts to say his name was Alex was met with firm reproach. 'No, I'm Ted'.
