Alex will insist on shoes that fit with his plans. If he wants to go to the playground that day, he'll insist on his 'Thomas Shoes' (sneakers). But if it's in his head to go to the beach that day, only his 'beach shoes' will suffice. It could be pouring rain - like it is today - but Alex wants to go to the beach, so he'll demand his beach shoes.
On the rare occasion that he agrees to stay and play indoors, signified by his Blink Blink shirt, he'll demand his 'Blink Blink shoes' too. The Blink Blink shoe demand will also indicate that he wants to go shopping - and will say 'Shopping today!!'
