A Noble Attempt

Incidentally, our Playland trip was a test of Alex's new potty skills resolve. He'd never been out, away from his potty for so long since starting serious potty training.

While at the park, we tried to talk Alex into using a public potty, but there was no luck on that. Eventually, the hours without going to the bathroom took their toll. I had been successful in talking him into wearing a pull-up in our last attempt at potty. That way, he wouldn't feel so uncomfortable when the inevitable happened. It did. And poor Alex started to cry when it did. We had to reassure him that there was no way he could hold it forever.

I was worried that this would be a major set-back. Those fears were banished when he used the potty nearly immediately upon coming home. Well done, my Big Boy.

Next step, learning how to use a public potty.
