Feast of Saint Gregory the Great and his BFF, Alex.

It's been only a week and a few days since my surgery.  I'm still not speaking much.  I still haven't fully washed my hair yet, damping just some baby shampoo on my scar.  However, I'd had enough of lying around, waiting to feel better.  I needed to get out and be around people.  The feast of Saint Gregory the Great in Harrison was just the thing.    We'd seen it being set up and had kept it in mind, promising Alex a trip there.  Today was the day.

We saw a fishing game with inflatable prizes.  This game allowed you to buy into the level of prize you wanted and just allowed the kids to fish all they wanted.  (So, more like a souvenir stand with a fishing pool.)   Alex was thrilled to get a new inflatable sword - even in blue!

Then it was off to the rides (after a quick bite to eat)!  Alex rode on the fire engines twice.  The first time, he was placed in the rear seat of a white engine.  Pah!  The second time was the better one, as seen here.

Alex looking thrilled.  Not to worry. This was just the clearest photo. He had a blast.

Then it was a ride with Mommy, strawberries that spin around.  Alex wanted to spin it himself, so we spun at a slow speed - which was fine with Mommy.

It started to rain while we were there, but we weren't leaving without an Iron Man doll.  The game was to roll balls down a game board with numbered slots.  The goal was to collect points that added to either less than 11 or more than 30.  There were six balls and up to 6 points per - over 30 it was.

Mommy won that one for him.
